1st Congress of Delegates of the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations
Dong Thap - The Congress of Delegates of the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations after the merger requires innovation in activities, focusing on works, and adapting to digital transformation.
On the morning of September 15, at the Provincial Convention Center (My Tho ward), the 1st Congress of the Delegates of the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Literature and Arts, term 2026 - 2031 took place. The event marked a historical turning point after the merger of Dong Thap and Tien Giang provinces.
Attending were Assoc. Prof. Dr., musician Do Hong Quan - Non-professional Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literary and Art Associations; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department; Mr. Dinh Van Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with 160 delegates representing more than 700 members currently active at 8 specialized branches.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Truong Trong Nghia - Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations, said that the merger process opens up a larger creative space, where historical, cultural and human values of the regions meet, intersect, and jointly nurture the cultural face of Dong Thap in the new period.
According to Mr. Nghia, the Association has more conditions to connect forces, synergize talents, and enrich creative inspiration. However, this also poses a requirement to strongly innovate in thinking, content and methods of operation.
Literacy and art, in the final analysis, must start from life and return to serving people" - Mr. Nghia emphasized, while placing the requirement that artists not only create valuable works but also contribute to preserving the memories of the land, nurturing the soul, and arousing belief and aspiration to rise up.

After the merger, the Association currently has more than 700 members, operating in 8 specialized sub-associations including Music, Fine Arts, Photography, Literature, Theater, Folk Arts, Cinema - Television, Dance and Theory and Criticism Department.
In the 2026 - 2031 term, the Association sets a target to organize at least 30 creative camps, penetrating reality; support publishing at least 50 quality books and works and annually invest and support from 10 - 20 works and works of high value.
Digital transformation is also identified as an important direction, with the goal of digitizing publications, audio, video, author data, works; upgrading electronic information pages and focusing on copyright protection in the digital environment.

Along with creative investment, the Association focuses on discovering and nurturing young forces and bringing literature and art closer to socio-economic life, cultural industry and tourism.
Artists are oriented to participate in designing spaces, souvenirs, and packaging for OCOP products and traditional craft villages.
Chairman of the Association Truong Trong Nghia said that the Congress needs to establish a new stage, in which members are the center, works are a measure of the quality of activities and creativity is the vitality of the Association.
With the motto "Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity - Development", the Congress of the Dong Thap Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations expects to create new motivation for the team of artists, contributing to the formation of valuable works, vividly reflecting the land and people of Dong Thap in the new period.
