More than 28 million members of the education promotion association enter the digital transformation phase

On the morning of September 25, the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education organized a meeting with central agencies and press agencies on the occasion of preparing for the VII National Congress of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, term 2026-2031, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Association's establishment, the Congress commended typical national learning models and summarized 5 years of implementing Decision 387/QD-TTg, Decision 677/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of the Information and Propaganda Department of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education said that the work of promoting education, talent promotion, and building a learning society has had strong changes, and the quality and effectiveness of activities are increasingly improved.

More than 28 million members, 11 million citizen learning accounts

Mr. Le Manh Hung - Vice President cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education said that to date, the Association has more than 28 million members, organized in all provinces and cities and 3,321 communes and wards.

According to reports at the meeting, 80% of communes have established Associations for Promoting Education, 100% of provinces have Associations. Among 469 universities and colleges, nearly 300 schools have Associations for Promoting Education or Associations for Promoting Education.

Models of studying families, studying clans, studying communities, and studying units continue to be implemented. The studying citizen system has had more than 11 million accounts updated and registered through VNeID.

In the past 5 years, the Vietnam Education Promotion Fund has mobilized nearly 25 billion VND; Provincial Education Promotion Associations have directly mobilized more than 3,600 billion VND. The Association also sent to press agencies a list of nearly 400 typical examples for reporters to learn about and reflect.

Journalism is a source of spreading the spirit of learning

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education emphasized the role of the media in spreading the learning movement.

All efforts of the Association in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the Government's Resolutions, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, no matter how good, are difficult to spread into social life if there is no propaganda and mobilization work" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan said.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan said that in the past 30 years, propaganda work has played an important role in bringing the movement to encourage learning, encourage talent and build a learning society into life.

According to her, learning models and learning examples in many ages, families, clans and communities have been promptly reflected by the press, contributing to spreading the spirit of learning in society.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan said that the next stage sets out requirements for strong innovation from awareness, thinking, operating methods to Association organization, in which improving the quality of operations on digital platforms is one of the important requirements.

According to Mr. Le Manh Hung, in the context of information explosion, the press not only reflects but also provides interpretations, proposals and criticisms. The Vietnam Association for Promoting Education identifies communication as continuing to be an important resource in promoting education promotion, talent promotion, building a learning and lifelong learning society.
