Health Day, bringing healthcare services closer to workers

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organizes the "Day for Workers' Health" to bring health services closer to workers.

Responding to "All People's Health Day" and "All People's Voluntary Blood Donation Day", the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor's first organization of "Day for Workers' Health" - an opening activity for Workers' Month 2026, shows a remarkable change in the way workers are cared for.

Reality over the years shows that health care for union members and workers has always been an important content in the activities of trade union organizations at all levels, but is often implemented in an integrated direction.

Now, health care for workers has been scaled up to a national-scale thematic "festival", showing that workers' health has been placed at the center, becoming a key axis in the activities of Workers' Month in all localities.

Implementing this plan of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the organization of health care for workers in localities also changes in a more practical, effective, and sustainable direction.

Activities such as free health check-ups and consultations, occupational disease screening, voluntary blood donation, giving gifts to workers with critical illnesses or issuing health insurance cards... are not only in response, but directly meet the specific needs of workers.

A more noteworthy point is how localities have proactively concretized this spirit of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with flexible models.

Typically, for the Da Nang Trade Union, the health care of workers by trade union levels in the past time is no longer limited to the business premises, but has been expanded to boarding houses and residential areas, associated with close and convenient organizational forms.

On-site health check-ups, in-depth counseling on occupational diseases, reproductive health, psychological support or models such as free patient shuttle buses, medical examination vouchers... are flexibly and regularly implemented by Trade Union levels depending on the actual situation, helping health services become more accessible to workers.

The diversity in the working methods of Trade Unions at all levels has created a clear change. Healthcare is no longer just a single activity, but has become a chain of linked solutions, associated with the living and working conditions of workers.

The fact that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organizes the "Day for Workers' Health" for the first time, in addition to bringing health services closer to workers to improve the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment, also aims to build a sustainable working environment.

Along with programs and policies to improve shift meals, supplement nutrition for heavy labor, to support living conditions in boarding houses, the "Day for Workers' Health" will contribute to the goal of further improving the quality of life for workers.

And this is what has made the pillar of caring for workers of the Trade Union organization increasingly thicker, more diverse and more meaningful in practice.
