More than 46,000 Lao Cai union members were cared for in the first quarter
Lao Cai - Closing Quarter I.2026, trade union levels continue to affirm the "backing point" role of workers with many outstanding results.
On April 14, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation informed that the unit had just summarized the activities of the first quarter and deployed key activities in the second quarter, especially Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health.
From the beginning of the year to now, Lao Cai trade union levels have supported 46,158 turns of union members and workers with a total budget of more than 75.6 billion VND.
Along with that, 188 "Trade Union Year-end Meals" were organized for more than 24,300 workers; 6 "Trade Union Homes" worth 300 million VND were awarded to union members in difficult circumstances. In addition, 3,569 union members participated in the "Online Trade Union Tet Market".
In parallel with material care, the work of representing and protecting workers' rights is promoted. In the first quarter, trade union levels signed 8 new collective labor agreements, reaching 47% of the annual plan.
Over 70% of state-owned enterprises and nearly 70% of non-state-owned enterprises organize employee conferences, creating direct and transparent dialogue channels. Mobile legal advice activities also support hundreds of union members about regimes, policies and labor safety.
In addition, more than 1.4 billion VND from the National Employment Fund has been disbursed to 17 households to borrow capital, creating jobs for 31 workers.
In the coming time, Lao Cai trade union levels will promote digital transformation, improve the quality of dialogue at enterprises and focus resources on caring for union members in difficult circumstances, especially in industrial parks, remote and isolated areas.
