Ho Chi Minh City assigns persons to be in charge of all of Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong's work

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a notice adjusting and supplementing the assignment of work for Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Hoang Nguyen Dinh.

The adjustment was made based on the Resolution of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on dismissing Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong from the position of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee at the third session held on June 19.

According to the announcement of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in order to ensure continuity and unity in leadership, direction and administration, in addition to the tasks assigned according to Decision No. 1799/QD-UBND dated March 30, 2026 of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh is assigned to continue to direct and handle all tasks, fields of work, agencies, units and contents of work under the scope of Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong's previous responsibility.

The time to perform additional tasks is calculated from the time the Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council on dismissing Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong from the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee takes effect until the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issues a decision to assign new work.

During this time, Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh is fully exercised his powers and responsibilities according to the Working Regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and relevant legal regulations.

Before being dismissed to carry out personnel work, Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong was in charge of planning, construction, public investment, ODA projects, urban railways and traffic safety in Ho Chi Minh City.

He directly monitors and directs medium-term and annual public investment plans, balances public investment capital sources, decides on investment policies and approves public investment projects and ODA projects according to his authority; and is also in charge of urban planning, construction planning, architectural management, urban development, renovation of old apartment buildings, transportation and many key projects such as Thu Thiem New Urban Area, Can Gio International Transshipment Port.

Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong also directly directed the Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Architecture, Urban Railway Management Board and many project management boards, corporations, and state-owned enterprises in the fields of construction, infrastructure, water supply, transportation and public utilities.

In addition, he monitored and directed 18 wards and 5 communes in Ho Chi Minh City.
