Army Major General appointed to Commander of Military Region 1

Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision No. 1469/QD-TTg dated July 31, 2026 on the appointment to hold the position of Commander of Military Region 1.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister appointed Major General Tran Xuan Manh - Deputy Commander cum Chief of Staff of Military Region 1 to hold the position of Commander of Military Region 1.

The decision takes effect from July 31, 2026.

Previously, implementing the Prime Minister's decision on personnel work, Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung - Commander of Military Region 1 was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff. According to the direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, Major General Tran Xuan Manh, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Military Region 1, received the task of Commander of Military Region 1.

At the conference on June 28, Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung handed over the task of Commander of Military Region 1 to Major General Tran Xuan Manh in accordance with regulations.
