Quang Ngai sets target for GRDP per capita to reach 7,500 USD

Promoting the driving role of industry in the economic structure of the province

On May 11, Mr. Ho Van Nien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee chaired the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee Conference, term 2025 - 2030, to implement contents on personnel work; give opinions on the draft resolutions on thematic issues of the Provincial Party Committee and disseminate and thoroughly grasp documents of the central government and the province according to their authority.

At the conference, Ms. Y Ngoc - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee presented the Action Program of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee to implement Conclusion No. 18 of the 2nd Conference of the 14th Central Committee of the Party on the National Economic, Social, Financial Development Plan and public debt borrowing and repayment, medium-term public investment for 5 years 2026 - 2030 associated with the implementation of the goal of striving for "double-digit" growth in Quang Ngai province.

According to the draft action program, the province aims to build Quang Ngai into a fairly developed locality of the country, an important growth pole of the Central - Central Highlands region. The average GRDP growth rate in the period 2026 - 2030 will reach 10%/year or more; GRDP per capita by 2030 will reach about 7,500 USD.

Regarding the draft Resolution on developing key industries in the province, the conference focused on discussing many solutions to promote the driving role of industry in the province's economic structure.

The draft resolution sets a target for the growth rate of added value in the industrial - construction sector to reach an average of 12 - 13%/year; in which, industry increases by an average of 12 - 13%/year, processing and manufacturing industry increases by an average of 11 - 12%/year.

By 2030, the proportion of industry - construction and services in GRDP will account for about 75 - 76%; industry - construction alone accounts for about 44 - 45%; processing and manufacturing industry accounts for over 40% of the province's GRDP.

The Resolution also sets a target that in the period 2026 - 2030, Dung Quat Economic Zone, Bo Y International Border Gate Economic Zone and industrial parks strive to attract about 3 - 4 billion USD of investment capital; industrial clusters attract about 1,000 billion VND.

Striving to welcome about 10 million visitors

The conference also gave opinions on the draft Resolution on sustainable tourism development in the province.

According to the draft resolution, the set target is that by 2030, Quang Ngai strives to welcome about 10 million visitors, including about 550 thousand international visitors; the average tourist growth rate in the period 2026 - 2030 will reach 15%/year; average length of stay will reach 3 days.

Total tourism revenue reached about 7,400 billion VND, contributing about 5% of the province's GRDP; creating jobs for about 21,000 workers. Striving to build Ly Son into a national sea-island tourism center; Mang Den Tourist Area to become a domestic and international branded eco-tourism and resort center.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ho Van Nien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the conference has completed many important contents, including personnel work; thoroughly grasping the Politburo's regulations on national defense and security intelligence work; and giving opinions on draft resolutions, programs, and major action plans of the province.

Regarding personnel work, the conference announced the decision of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee and implemented the election of members of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee in accordance with regulations. The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Office to urgently complete the necessary procedures so that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee can send a document to the Secretariat requesting approval of the titles of Member and Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee according to regulations.
