Union members and workers contribute 261 units of blood to share with patients
An Giang - Besides blood donation and health care activities, the festival also has many booths introducing products, services and discounts for union members.
On May 9, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) coordinated with the Provincial Red Cross Society to organize the "Day for Workers' Health" at the Provincial Labor Culture House (Rach Gia ward) with many meaningful and practical activities in response to Workers' Month 2026.
Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Do Tran Thinh said: "The "Day for Workers' Health" in 2026 aims to concretize the policies and orientations in Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW, strengthen communication, mobilize union members and workers to raise awareness and change behavior towards practicing a healthy lifestyle, regular physical training, proactively preventing diseases, especially occupational diseases.
Thereby, mobilizing the participation of localities, sectors, and business leaders in caring for, protecting and improving workers' health. Mobilizing employers to pay attention to improving working conditions, ensuring meals during shifts, linking workers' health care with building a labor safety culture to create a safe and productive working environment.
From there, it also affirms the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting workers, contributing to reducing the burden of disease, improving the quality of human resources, and promoting sustainable development.
At the program, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Red Cross Society to organize voluntary blood donation. As a result, 261 units of blood were received to serve emergency and treatment work. Coordinated with Saigon Kien Giang Eye Hospital to examine, advise on treatment of eye diseases and distribute free medicine to 141 union members and workers.
In addition to health care activities, the festival also has many booths displaying and introducing products, services and discounts for union members.
Through the program, the Trade Union organization continues to affirm its role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; and at the same time create conditions for union members to access health care services and preferential products at reasonable costs.
