Morning Coffee - listening to the voices of union members and workers in Ho Chi Minh City
In Hoa Loi ward (HCMC), for the first time, the model "Morning Coffee - Listening to the voices of union members and workers" is organized in commodity manufacturing enterprises. This program is expected to spread and become a forum for workers to express their recommendations and aspirations.
Workers attend morning coffee at enterprises
On the morning of May 6, at He Vi Trading and Production Joint Stock Company (HCMC), the program "Morning Coffee - Listening to the voices of union members and workers" took place with the participation of ward leaders, businesses and 125 workers.
Workers have exchanged and proposed many people's livelihood issues such as handling sidewalk encroachment, improving traffic safety and upgrading infrastructure such as clean water and street lighting.
Workers also proposed ensuring that there are always enough vaccines at the ward health station to reduce costs when having to get vaccinated at private hospitals; proposed that public hospitals ensure full medicines and medical supplies so that workers no longer have to go out to buy; proposed that localities support workers in carrying out administrative procedures, reducing inappropriate procedures that cause time and trouble...
At the program, Mr. Le Van Hong - Chairman of Hoa Loi Ward People's Committee - and units in the ward answered questions from workers. According to Mr. Le Van Hong, for issues under their authority, the locality will handle them, aiming to create favorable conditions and a better living environment for workers. For issues related to sectors, Hoa Loi ward will propose and coordinate to handle them in the near future.
Expanding the "Morning Coffee" model at businesses
According to records, this is the first time the "Morning Coffee" model has been organized in a commodity production enterprise in Hoa Loi ward.
Mr. Phan Van Duc (51 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "This is a very meaningful program. There have never been activities like this before. Through the program, workers can meet directly with local leaders and business leaders. Through this, workers can propose inadequacies for localities to overcome and resolve.
“We have discussed many issues related to people's livelihoods related to the lives of local workers. We hope that local leaders will acknowledge the recommendations of workers and gradually remove and resolve them. Thereby, contributing to supporting workers living in the locality to be more convenient. Hopefully this program will be organized periodically so that workers can continue to express their aspirations” - Mr. Duong Hoang Thanh (40 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City).
Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - assessed that the above program is very meaningful and practical.
“Through this program, the voices of union members and workers will be closer to businesses, closer to local leaders. The thoughts and aspirations of workers are directly proposed. From there, local leaders and businesses promptly resolve the legitimate aspirations of workers” - Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan assessed.
According to Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan, this is a good model, which can be replicated in grassroots trade unions and other businesses, especially in Workers' Month 2026, so that localities and businesses can grasp the thoughts and satisfactorily solve the problems raised by workers.
