Linking businesses to better care for workers
In Tay Ninh, Mr. Nguyen Qui Hoang - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Tran Hiep Thanh Textile Joint Stock Company is one of the prominent faces with many practical and persistent contributions to the rights of union members.
Promoting the role of head, Mr. Hoang proactively advised and coordinated with the Executive Committee to organize periodic dialogues, helping workers express their aspirations and businesses promptly remove obstacles.
Not stopping there, Mr. Hoang also actively negotiated and signed collective labor agreements with many clauses beneficial to workers with the Trade Union Executive Committee. These contents are not only formal but also substantive, associated with the daily lives of workers.
On each New Year occasion, workers receive lucky money at the beginning of the year; holidays and Tet holidays all have bonuses from 200,000 VND to 300,000 VND/person. Especially during the Lunar New Year, businesses give gifts worth from 700,000 VND to 1.5 million VND/person.
In addition, the Trade Union also presented gifts from 300,000 VND to 500,000 VND/gift, contributing to taking care of workers to celebrate Tet warmly and fully.
Many other practical care policies have also been implemented synchronously, such as supporting visits when families have funerals and weddings; allowances for young children of workers with a level of 1 million VND/child/year; awarding scholarships to children of workers with good academic achievements; organizing gift-giving at International Children's Day June 1st; honoring officials and employees with seniority in work.
A noteworthy point in Mr. Nguyen Qui Hoang's approach is to always seek consensus and support from employers. According to him, this is the "key" for grassroots trade unions to effectively implement activities to care for union members. His message also clearly expresses this view: "Seizing all support from employers is the fastest way for grassroots trade unions to bring more benefits to workers.
Reality shows that the harmonious coordination between trade unions and businesses at Tran Hiep Thanh Textile Joint Stock Company has contributed to building a stable working environment, limiting labor disputes, and improving the material and spiritual life of workers.
