Lao Cai temporarily suspends signing contracts with teachers to wait for payroll handover
Lao Cai - The province has temporarily not signed contracts for teachers and staff at public schools to wait for the rearrangement of the education network and official staffing.
On August 14, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province said that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had opinions on Official Dispatch No. 298 of the Department of Education and Training.
The submission proposes to continue allowing contracts for teachers and staff; sending and visiting lecturers at educational and training non-business units in the area in the 2026 - 2027 school year.
Accordingly, in the immediate future, the province has not signed labor contracts with teachers and staff at public educational institutions as requested by the Department of Education and Training.
This is being implemented in the context that the province is focusing on arranging and reorganizing preschool and general education institutions and waiting for competent authorities to issue a decision to assign official education career payroll in 2026.
After completing the arrangement of educational institutions and having a decision to assign official staff, the Department of Education and Training is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Finance and the People's Committees of communes and wards to comprehensively review the demand for teacher and staff in the entire sector.
On that basis, the education sector will develop a plan to propose contracts for teachers and staff, submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and comments, ensuring compliance with norms and current regulations.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training, relevant agencies, units and localities to organize implementation according to regulations.
