Announcing the rate of students taking the 10th grade public school entrance exam in Hanoi in 2026

On the evening of June 19, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) announced exam scores and benchmark scores for 10th grade public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year.

To be considered for admission to 10th grade of non-specialized public high schools, candidates take three subjects: Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language on May 30 and 31. Candidates registering for specialized schools continue to take the specialized subject exam on June 1.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training, there are 102,243 students admitted to public schools, equivalent to more than 80% of candidates taking the exam.

The total number of admissions reached 109,684 because many students simultaneously passed in different aspirations. In particular, some students passed up to 5 aspirations, including one non-specialized public aspiration and four specialized aspirations or a French bilingual program.

In fact, currently, in addition to public high schools, Hanoi students can also choose private schools, vocational education centers - continuing education or vocational education institutions.

In the 2026 - 2027 school year, private high schools alone are assigned more than 34,000 targets. Many schools are invested in modern facilities, rich training programs, with enhanced foreign language classes, high-quality classes and many experiential activities.

The enrollment method of this school block is also quite flexible. Many schools consider admission based on academic results at the lower secondary school level, some schools combine with 10th grade entrance exam scores. This helps students have more choices and reduce exam pressure.

In addition, the city's system of 29 vocational education - continuing education centers is assigned nearly 12,000 enrollment quotas.

According to the regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, if you have been admitted to grade 10, candidates need to complete enrollment confirmation procedures in a direct or online form. This is a mandatory procedure. Enrollment confirmation time is from 1:30 PM on June 25 to 24:00 AM on June 27.

Public high schools with autonomy, private high schools and vocational education - continuing education centers confirm enrollment directly and receive passing applications from students.
