Can Tho - July 13, Military Region 9 organized a conference to summarize military and defense work in the first 6 months of 2026.
According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2026, the Party Committee - Military Region Command, Party committees, and commanders at all levels thoroughly grasped the Resolutions and Directives of superiors; led and directed the armed forces of the Military Region to successfully complete the training and combat readiness tasks, and absolutely protect the safety of key targets.
The overall quality and combat strength of the armed forces of the Military Region are constantly being improved. The Military Region has completed 100% of the target of selecting and calling citizens to enlist with higher quality than last year.
Training for subjects was deployed correctly and fully according to the content and program; the number of participating troops reached over 98.5%. The inspection results of subjects 100% met the requirements, of which over 78% achieved good and excellent results, ensuring absolute safety for people and weapons and equipment.
In addition, the armed forces of the Military Region contributed tens of thousands of working days to help people harvest crops; build new rural areas; supported the construction of more than 150 "Comrade Houses", "Houses of Gratitude", firmly consolidating the people's hearts. Promoting the effective implementation of the "Operation 500 Days and Nights" with good quality.
Speaking to direct the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Dat - Commander of Military Region 9 requested that the entire Military Region must make outstanding efforts, focus on strictly maintaining the combat readiness regime, absolutely not to be passive or surprised in any situation. Lead, direct, and organize well the defense area exercises, ensuring absolute safety for people and weapons and equipment.
Resolutely rectify and tighten discipline and order. Party committees and commanders of agencies and units must be directly responsible if serious disciplinary violations or traffic unsafety occur.
Improve the efficiency of logistics, technical, and financial work. Accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital and basic construction projects; strictly implement the target of saving 10% of gasoline and oil.
Continue to promote defense foreign affairs, strengthen exchange and sisterhood activities with units of the Royal Cambodian Army and the Lao People's Army, contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
On this occasion, the Military Region organized the awarding of Certificates of Merit from the Minister of National Defense to 5 collectives and 5 individuals of Military Region 9 with outstanding achievements in implementing the arrangement of administrative units at all levels and the activities of local authorities at 2 levels.
