3 major transport projects connecting inter-regional roads worth VND2,120 billion

Branch line worth over 96 billion VND connecting Cam Khe industrial park

The Inter-regional Road project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai province) - with a total adjusted investment of VND 2,120 billion, more than 53km of the main route has been handed over and put into use.

As part of the project, Package No. 32: Construction of branch lines will be implemented from the end of October 2024 (Winning bid price is more than 96 billion VND). This package will build a branch line connecting from Km23+920 of the main inter-regional road to Cam Khe Industrial Park (Cam Khe commune).

After more than a year of construction, the section with a total length of more than 3km has now taken shape, passing through the fields of the old Phong Thinh commune; with the section bordering the Cam Khe industrial park, the road is constructed through hills, forming towering slopes, connecting directly to the main road of the industrial park.

This section is designed according to the standards of a grade III plain road, with a design speed of 80km/h. When put into use, it will meet the needs of transportation and goods transportation, helping to increase the efficiency of attracting investment in Cam Khe industrial park.

Over 97 billion VND to extend inter-regional road near Phong Chau bridge

Also part of the inter-regional road project, Package No. 60: Construction of the extended road - will be implemented from May 2025 after completing the contractor selection work (Winning bid price of more than 97 billion VND).

This package consists of the construction of a road longer than 3.7km, designed according to the scale of a grade III plain road, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The starting point of the route is at Km0 of the inter-regional road intersecting with National Highway 32 (Km81+380), the end point intersects with National Highway 32 at Km76+150 (about 400m from Phong Chau bridge).

According to records, at the construction site, the contractor has mobilized many engineers, workers and many large machines and vehicles to carry out the work of digging and filling the roadbed, spreading crushed stone, constructing the drainage system, building the overpass on Ho Chi Minh Road...

Along with the inter-regional branch road connecting Cam Khe industrial park, the extended inter-regional road project is expected to be completed in 2026, helping to increase the efficiency of the main inter-regional road, helping to connect industrial parks/clusters, and develop the socio-economy of localities.

Renovating the route connecting the inter-regional road and National Highway 32C

Most recently, the People's Committee of Van Xuan commune has implemented a project: Renovation and upgrading of provincial road 315 connecting National Highway 32C with the inter-regional road of Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province.

The above project has a total investment of 120 billion VND, invested by the Van Xuan Commune Public Service Center. Package No. 07: Construction of the project is currently in the process of selecting a contractor.

Package No. 07 will construct a section of the route with a total length of 4.63km, starting at Km22+470 of Provincial Road 315 at My Van High School; ending at the intersection of Km27+100 of Provincial Road 315 connecting with the inter-regional road at Km2+460.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper in early 2026, the above route passes through the fields and densely populated residential areas of Lam Son commune, the old Tam Nong district (now Van Xuan commune).

This section has a fairly large traffic volume, many drivers traveling from the main inter-regional road to National Highway 32C and vice versa have passed through this section (to avoid the section Km0 - Km2+460 of the inter-regional road under construction).

It can be seen that the route has many seriously degraded locations: Peeling asphalt road surface, many potholes, potholes, deformed sidewalks... Vehicles have many difficulties when passing through these locations.

After package No. 07 completes the contractor selection, the construction unit will renovate and upgrade provincial road 315 with the following scale: Roadbed width is 15m, including 11m roadway width, including 10.5m road surface for vehicles (paved with asphalt concrete), width of winches on each side is 0.25m, width of sidewalks on each side is 2m... The design speed of the route is 40km/h.
