Persistent businesses with community activities

Over the years, community support programs have become a part of the activities of many businesses. From new classrooms in mountainous areas, desk lamps for poor students to gifts to support workers and people in disaster-stricken areas. To bring that resource to the right place to need support, the connecting role of a reputable and understanding organization is particularly important. Over the past 30 years, the Golden Heart Charity Fund (Golden Heart Fund) has been a bridge between organizations, individuals, and businesses with workers and people in difficult circumstances across the country.

Sowing hope from highland school sites

As a business with nearly 20 years of companionship with the Golden Heart Charity Fund, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Van - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Petrolimex Asphalt Company said that through many years of companionship, the business has seen in the Golden Heart Fund the prestige, transparency and responsibility in social and charitable activities.

This is a reliable bridge, helping businesses' hearts to be sent to places that need to share, especially mountainous areas, remote and isolated areas" - Ms. Van said.

According to Ms. Van, with a spirit of responsibility and sharing, the company always pays attention to areas and circumstances that are still facing many difficulties. The business appreciates that the fund not only gives short-term support gifts but also implements programs that bring long-term value. In which, the program to build school sites in difficult mountainous areas has left many imprints.

The new school sites bring better learning conditions, adding motivation for children to go to school and stick with their studies. Businesses realize that part of their contributions can contribute to improving classrooms, making the road to school more convenient and bringing more faith to young children.

Ms. Van also said that what businesses feel most clearly in the process of accompanying is that kindness is given to the right place and creates long-term values. The Fund not only transfers support resources to the community but also understands what each area needs, who needs to be shared. Thanks to that, each contribution of businesses becomes more practical and meaningful.

School sites built in areas with many shortages not only improve facilities but also create conditions for highland children to continue studying.

For us, that is the most beautiful meaning of charity, giving with heart and seeing that love continue in life" - Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Van shared.

Contributing a piece of light to the journey of compassion

If schools open up more learning opportunities for children in mountainous areas, the donated desk lamps contribute to caring for learning conditions in each family. With Rang Dong Light Source and Thermos Joint Stock Company, many charity programs have been associated with the company's own products.

Over the years, Rang Dong and the Golden Heart Fund have supported people in localities affected by natural disasters and storms; taking care of difficult families, workers and poor students in mountainous areas.

The enterprise once provided in-kind support worth 900 million VND to people in 6 North Central provinces, and presented thousands of gifts to flood victims in Quang Binh, Ha Tinh and Nghe An. Rang Dong also presented 1,200 lamps to poor students in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh; 600 lamps to poor students overcoming difficulties in Bac Giang and lamps to protect vision for children of workers in difficult circumstances in Bac Ninh.

Recalling this journey, Ms. Vu Thi Hong Nhung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company - said that what is memorable is not in the numbers, but in the contributions of the collective of workers that have truly reached those who need to share.

One of the trips that left many emotions with Rang Dong was the program to visit the H'Mong people in Cu Vai village, Tram Tau, Yen Bai in the past. The village is located in a highland area, the roads are dangerous, and people's lives are still difficult.

Simple gifts such as balls, notebooks, clothes or warm blankets have brought joy to the children. "The children's simple joy in front of gifts shows that sharing, no matter how small, can bring great spiritual values," Ms. Nhung shared.

Many charity activities have the voluntary participation of Rang Dong officials and employees. Therefore, this is not only an activity of the enterprise but also shows the feelings and social responsibility of each worker.

According to Ms. Nhung, social responsibility has become a part of Rang Dong's culture and development process. Sustainable businesses need to create good products, do business effectively, ensure jobs and lives for workers, and pay attention to the community where they operate and those who need help.

When officials and employees are willing to share a part of their income, a part of their efforts to help others, that is when social responsibility becomes a life value, not just a program," Ms. Nhung said.

Nearly a decade of persistent companionship

With Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., the attachment to the Golden Heart Fund has lasted for nearly a decade. According to Ms. Le Thi Hoai Thuong - External Relations Director of Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., through the programs that have been implemented, the fund is always present at the right time and in the right place, bringing support resources to those in need of sharing.

From 2020 to now, through the Golden Heart Fund, Nestlé Vietnam has supported workers and people in difficult circumstances across the country with a total value of more than 3.5 billion VND. From Tet gifts for workers to resources to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, or nutritional products and medical supplies transferred during difficult epidemics...

Each program for us is not simply a charity activity, but a sharing and spiritual encouragement for everyone to overcome difficulties and rise up" - Ms. Le Thi Hoai Thuong shared.

Maintaining companionship for nearly a decade also stems from the "Creating Common Values" philosophy that Nestlé pursues. Nestlé Vietnam identifies people and communities as one of the focuses in its sustainable development strategy, while considering social responsibility as part of the business's development process.

In the next journey, Nestlé Vietnam expects to continue to accompany the fund with appropriate scale and form, on the foundation of "timely - cooperative - transparent". The business also hopes that the programs will be spread in more forms, attracting more units to participate and bringing resources to many circumstances in need of support.
