Supporting 50 million VND for workers injured in serious labor accidents

Mr. Tran Quang Khai (born in 1986), a ship electrical equipment repairman at Thinh Long Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a member of the Trade Union of Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (under the Vietnam Construction Trade Union) suffered a workplace accident on April 2. Mr. Khai suffered multiple serious injuries such as traumatic brain injury, hematoma outside the right forehead, closed chest injury, hemorrhage and pneumothorax on both sides, right lung contusion, closed abdomen injury, degree IV liver injury, right liver rupture, kidney injury on both sides and spinal cord injury...

After the accident, Mr. Khai had to undergo many treatment courses at medical facilities.

Understanding the circumstances of workers who suffered severe labor accidents, on October 15, Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Chung - Deputy Head of the Social Work Department, Lao Dong Newspaper, representative of the Golden Heart Charity Fund - visited and presented support of 50 million VND to Mr. Tran Quang Khai at his private residence (village 7, Hai Thinh commune, Ninh Binh province).

The support of 50 million VND from the Golden Heart Charity Fund is of practical significance to Mr. Khai's family. Not only contributing to sharing the economic burden after many months of treatment, the support also shows the concern and companionship of the Trade Union organization and Lao Dong Newspaper for workers who unfortunately encounter accidents during their work.

Receiving a support of 50 million VND from the Golden Heart Charity Fund, Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Quang Khai could not hide his emotion. After many months of treatment with serious injuries, his health has not fully recovered, his life and his family are still facing many difficulties. Therefore, the support coming at this time is of practical significance, helping his family ease some of the burden after a long period of treatment.

The road ahead is still full of challenges, but the timely companionship of the Golden Heart Charity Fund, Lao Dong Newspaper, construction industry trade union levels, leaders and colleagues in the company has added motivation for me and my family to firmly overcome the difficult period" - Mr. Tran Quang Khai said.

On behalf of the Company's leaders and the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union, Mr. Vu Thanh Nam - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Thinh Long Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. - thanked Lao Dong Newspaper and the Golden Heart Charity Fund for their concern and support for workers who suffered severe labor accidents and said that in the near future, after Mr. Khai's health stabilizes, the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union and the company's leaders will record the family's wishes to arrange other jobs suitable to Mr. Khai's health conditions, in order to create jobs and stable income for workers after suffering labor accidents.
