Da Nang - Tam Long Vang Charity Social Fund supports 50 million VND, adding hope for female workers in distress, raising their elderly and sick father alone.
Old and sick father, daughter in trouble
At the age of 68, Mr. Truong Le (resident in Tam Xuan commune, Da Nang city) only hopes to have health to reduce becoming a burden for his daughter. However, three years ago, complications of heart failure and vascular occlusion in the lower extremities caused him to have one leg amputated. Since then, all daily activities have depended on his daughter.
His support is Ms. Truong Thi Thuy Vang (29 years old), a worker at Phuoc Ky Nam Leather Shoe Joint Stock Company, Da Nang City.
Not yet married, Ms. Vang both worked to earn a living and took care of her sick elderly father. The worker's salary, although meager, is a source of income for the two father and son to cover living expenses and medicine.
The incident happened on the morning of May 11, 2026, when Ms. Vang unfortunately fell off her motorbike on the way to the company. The labor accident caused her multiple injuries and had to be hospitalized for treatment.
More than 5 months have passed, her health has not yet recovered. Traveling is difficult, she has to continue treatment, functional rehabilitation and cannot return to the factory.
The father who lost one leg and needed his daughter's care, now has to witness his child being sick and struggling after the accident.
The biggest worry is that my daughter does not know when she will be able to go back to work. The illness makes it impossible for me to help my daughter, while the life of the two fathers and daughters is increasingly difficult" - Mr. Truong Le worried.
As for Ms. Vang, what makes her worried is not only the pain after the accident but also the matter of food, clothing, medicine and taking care of her elderly father.
Without income, treatment and living expenses become a burden. Her biggest wish at this time is to recover soon and return to work to continue to support her father.
50 million VND adds hope
In those difficult days, on October 15th, representatives of the Lao Dong Newspaper Office in the Central region, together with the Da Nang Industrial Zones Trade Union and the grassroots business Trade Union, visited and presented 50 million VND from the Golden Heart Charity Fund to support Ms. Vang.
Receiving the support, Ms. Vang was moved by the concern and sharing of the Trade Union organization and the kind hearts.
Ms. Vang emotionally shared: "My elderly father lost a leg, now I have an accident, unable to go to work, so the life of the two fathers and sons is even more difficult. The support of 50 million VND is a very big gift for my family at this time. I just hope to recover soon, return to work to have money for medicine and take care of my father during his old age.
Mr. Tran Quoc Bao - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Da Nang Industrial Parks - said that the companionship of the Golden Heart Charity Fund has contributed to supporting many union members and workers suffering from dangerous diseases, accidents, and particularly difficult circumstances.
Not only supporting workers in distress, the Trade Union organization also coordinates with the Fund to award scholarships to children of poor workers, connect resources to build and donate houses of gratitude to difficult families.
