11th grade male student jumps into river to save 2 young children in Ninh Binh
Ninh Binh - Discovering 2 young children falling into the river, an 11th-grade male student left his bicycle and backpack, rushed down to rescue and brought both children ashore safely.
On September 24, Hai Hau High School B sent a report to the Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training and Hai Xuan Commune People's Committee about student Nguyen Manh Hung (student of class 11B1) who bravely jumped into the river to save 2 young children in the Muc River.
Previously, at about 11 am on the same day, Nguyen Manh Hung returned from school through the above area. Seeing 2 young children struggling in the water, Hung immediately left his bicycle and backpack on the bank and rushed down to rescue them.
According to Hung, 1 child sank first, so he brought this child ashore first, then continued to rescue the other person. Fortunately, the river section where the incident occurred was only deep to Hung's neck. When both children were brought ashore, passersby came to help.
“I don't know how to swim, but at that time the road was deserted, there was no one. Seeing the children in danger, I didn't think much, just thought about going down to rescue people,” Hung recounted.
Before that brave action, in the afternoon of September 24, Hai Xuan Commune People's Committee decided to award a surprise certificate of merit to Nguyen Manh Hung for his brave action of saving people.
