Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Brazilian Workers' Center organize a high-level meeting
On the afternoon of November 5, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Brazilian Workers' Center held a high-level meeting chaired by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Mr. Adilson Gonçalves de Araujo - President of the Brazilian Workers' Center (CTB).
Also attending were members of the Delegation of the Brazilian Workers' Center and some members of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor: Nguyen Duc Thinh - Head of the External Affairs Committee, Vu Thi Giang Huong - Head of the Propaganda Department, Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Head of the Labor Relations Department, Tong Van Bang - Head of the Organizing Committee. This is the first time the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has hosted a high-level delegation of the Brazilian Workers' Center.

The two sides discussed the socio-economic situation; the workers' movement and trade union activities. President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang affirmed that 2024 - the year of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Brazil, this is a favorable premise to promote and develop friendship and cooperation between the trade unions of the two countries at this time; at the same time, he expressed his deep confidence that this visit of the high-level delegation of the Brazilian Workers' Center led by Mr. Adilson Gonçalves de Araujo will contribute to further consolidating and tightening the friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, the two trade union organizations and workers of the two countries of Vietnam and Brazil.
This will be an important milestone in the relationship between the Vietnam Trade Union and the Brazilian Trade Union, contributing to the common success of activities to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the framework of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Brazil.
Regarding the workers' movement and activities of the Vietnam Trade Union, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang affirmed that the Vietnam Trade Union always operates under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Currently, the Vietnam Trade Union is actively implementing and achieving many important results in performing the task of representing, caring for, and protecting union members and workers. Vietnam Trade Unions at all levels are focusing on developing projects and action programs to implement the Resolution of the 13th Congress of Vietnam Trade Unions, term 2023-2028, focusing on 3 breakthroughs...
To effectively carry out its mission as an organization representing workers in Vietnam, in its operational orientation, the Vietnam Trade Union always attaches importance to promoting cooperative relations with trade union organizations of countries around the world to learn and share operational experiences. In which, traditional friends and partners with the same ideology such as the Brazilian Workers' Center play a very important role.
At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang proposed a number of cooperation contents in the coming time. Accordingly, it is proposed that the Trade Union organizations of the two countries regularly update their activities through appropriate forms such as organizing direct delegation exchanges as well as online forms with specific and practical activities, contributing to tightening and deepening the friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the Trade Union organizations of the two countries in the coming time.
Continue to strengthen and promote solidarity, attachment, support and assistance in international forums through bilateral delegation exchanges, meetings and joint participation in international conferences and events organized by the World Trade Union (WFTU), as well as in international multilateral forums attended by both sides.
The exchange focused on sharing experiences in trade union activities in collective bargaining, developing union members, training and improving the operational capacity of trade union officials of the two countries to better perform the task of representing workers, caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. Support each other to build harmonious labor relations, protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers, improve working conditions and environment, towards the goal of decent employment for all workers.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also believes that, with its position, role and influence, the Brazilian Workers' Center will be a bridge to help the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in consolidating and developing friendly and cooperative relations with trade union organizations of countries in the South American region.

At the meeting, Mr. Adilson Gonçalves de Araujo was moved to say that this was President Ho Chi Minh's first visit to the country, and expressed his confidence that the cooperative relationship between the two unions will increasingly develop on the basis of the good relationship between the two countries.
The CTB President emphasized the need for strong solidarity between the two sides to effectively carry out the role of the Trade Union organization. Some issues discussed by the high-ranking CTB delegation at the meeting were salary assurance, labor productivity, unemployment, etc.
During the visit and work in Vietnam, the high-level delegation of the Brazilian Workers' Center will go on field trips and learn about the activities of grassroots trade unions in the Maritime and Agricultural sectors in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh.
