With nearly 90 years of operation, the Construction, Wood and Mining Trade Union of the Republic of Cyprus currently has 7 industry unions and operates in many different fields. In recent years, the Covid-19 pandemic and geopolitical conflicts in Europe have caused prices to increase rapidly, affecting the lives of Cyprian workers, some of whom have become poor and have a lower standard of living.

In that context, the Trade Union of Construction, Wood and Mining of the Republic of cybers has made many efforts to fight to protect the rights of workers and achieved some results in salary increases and signing new labor agreements that are beneficial to workers.

Through researching a number of enterprises and grassroots trade unions in Vietnam, Mr. Michalis Papanikolaou acknowledged and highly appreciated the Vietnamese Government's interest in trade union activities, the close relationship between workers and grassroots trade unions. The representative of the Construction, Wood and Mineral Trade Union of the Republic of cypress hopes to have the opportunity to refer to the experiences and successes of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union in particular and the Vietnam Trade Union in general in workers' and trade union activities, especially in the context of Vietnam developing a multi-faceted economy.
