Quang Tri workers raise many recommendations on regimes and policies
Quang Tri - At the program "Listening to union members and workers speak", many recommendations on insurance, wages, housing and policy regimes were answered.
Workers raise concerns about rights
On October 30th, the Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) of Quang Tri province organized the program "Listening to union members and workers speak" at Nhat Long Quang Tri Co., Ltd., Cam Lo commune, with the participation of representatives of the Department of Home Affairs, Provincial Social Insurance (BHXH) and union members and workers of non-business units and businesses in Cam Lo and Hieu Giang communes.

At the program, representatives of workers from Cam Lo Regional General Hospital, Nhat Long Quang Tri Co., Ltd. and workers of brick factories in the area raised many questions directly related to their rights during the working process.
One of the issues that workers are concerned about is the social insurance policy when they quit their jobs but do not yet meet the conditions to receive a pension.
Workers ask, in the case of having paid social insurance for many years but not meeting the conditions to receive a pension, should the contribution period be preserved or should they request to receive one-time social insurance benefits? What are the benefits of each different option so that workers can choose according to their circumstances?

Along with that, union members requested to clarify whether maternity leave and sick leave are included in the social insurance contribution period to receive pensions; in which cases employees must pay themselves and in which cases are they paid by the social insurance agency.
These are concerns directly related to immediate benefits and long-term social security policies, especially for workers who have participated in social insurance for a long time but are not old enough to retire.
In addition, workers are also concerned about the situation of businesses delaying and owing social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance; procedures for resolving sickness, maternity, occupational accident and unemployment benefits.

Proposals on salaries and allowances for medical staff; regimes for people working in heavy and hazardous environments; retirement age for direct workers and the implementation of labor contracts and collective labor agreements are also mentioned in the program.
Before the questions of union members, representatives of the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs, Provincial Social Insurance and Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation directly exchanged and answered issues in their assigned fields, helping workers better understand the regulations related to their rights.
Listening to protect rights
In addition to policy obstacles, union members also reflected on the difficulties of grassroots trade unions when some businesses avoided and prolonged dialogue and negotiation on salaries, bonuses and quality of lunch meals.

Answering this question, a representative of the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation said that when receiving feedback, the upper-level Trade Union will proactively work with the enterprise, and at the same time assign specialized officials to directly support the grassroots trade union in the process of dialogue and negotiation.
In case businesses intentionally do not cooperate, the Trade Union organization will coordinate with functional agencies to conduct inspections and handle them according to regulations to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
The Provincial Labor Federation also sets a target that by the end of the 2025-2030 term, 100% of key grassroots trade union officials at non-state-owned enterprises will be trained in skills in dialogue, collective bargaining and law enforcement supervision.
According to the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation, the program "Listening to union members and workers speak" is a direct dialogue forum between workers, trade union organizations and state management agencies.

Through the program, thoughts, aspirations and difficulties arising at the grassroots level are directly reflected to competent authorities. Issues that cannot be resolved immediately or exceed authority will be summarized and proposed to competent authorities for consideration.
The direct participation of leaders of the Department of Home Affairs, Provincial Social Insurance and Provincial Labor Federation in answering questions not only helps union members better understand policies but also creates conditions for functional agencies to grasp reality and identify inadequacies in the implementation process.
Through this, the program contributes to improving the effectiveness of caring for and protecting the rights of workers, while building harmonious and stable labor relations at enterprises and units.
