Trade unions at all levels participate in negotiation, supervise shift meals and grasp workers' opinions, contributing to improving service quality at units.

On October 15, in Quang Ninh, the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Trade Union (TKV Trade Union) organized a thematic conference "Improving the quality of serving lunch meals, training, and health care for workers".

The conference takes place in a series of activities to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2026) and the 16th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20, 2010 - October 20, 2026).

According to the TKV Trade Union, in the underground mine block, 14 units are organizing centralized self-cooked kitchens, serving more than 708,000 ration meals per month, with a value of 65,000 VND/meal, self-selected menus from 12-18 dishes, accompanied by snacks and cooling sweet soup. For the open-pit and screening blocks, 7 units are implementing socialization of lunch services, serving an average of nearly 300,000 meals per month.

Along with that, units are interested in investing in facilities, equipment, implementing food safety and hygiene procedures and in-kind allowance regimes for more than 18,300 workers each month.

Trade unions at all levels have made positive contributions through participating in negotiations, including the content of lunch meals in collective labor agreements; coordinating supervision from the stage of importing raw materials, processing to distribution; regularly grasping the thoughts, aspirations and surveying the level of satisfaction of workers. In many units, the rate of workers satisfied with the quality of meals reached over 95%.

At the conference, delegates listened to heartfelt presentations from trade union officials, female officials in charge of women's work, heads of dining halls and people directly involved in managing and supervising meal service activities at the grassroots level.

Also at the conference, the TKV Trade Union commended and rewarded 15 typical collectives and 45 individuals, including management officials, dining heads and workers directly serving lunch meals, who have achievements in organizing, managing, serving lunch meals, fostering and caring for workers' health. The activity aims to recognize the efforts and sense of responsibility of collectives and individuals, and at the same time encourage the team serving lunch meals to continue to improve the quality of meals, contributing to caring for the health and lives of workers throughout the group.

Within the framework of the program, the TKV Trade Union organized award ceremonies for collectives and individuals who won prizes in the online contest "Understanding regimes, policies, and rights for female workers in 2026", which is part of a series of practical activities towards the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2026) and the 16th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20, 2010 - October 20, 2026).

The thematic conference "Improving the quality of meal service, training, and health care for workers" is a practical activity of TKV Trade Union towards Vietnamese Women's Day October 20th, and at the same time concretizes the task of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.

From the experiences shared at the conference and the typical collectives and individuals praised, the TKV Trade Union continues to affirm its role in accompanying expertise, promoting the improvement of meal quality, fully implementing the regime of training, improving working conditions and taking care of workers' health, contributing to building harmonious, stable and sustainable labor relations throughout the Group" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, Vice President of the TKV Trade Union, said.
