Meeting of full-time trade union officials of Dong Thap province through periods

The meeting was held to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026), to show gratitude and honor the contributions of generations of trade union officials to the workers' movement and trade union activities of the province, and at the same time create a space for exchange and sharing experiences between generations.

Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - Chairwoman of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation - emphasized the stature of the 97-year journey of the Vietnam Trade Union and affirmed the growth of the Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union after merging the trade union organizations of Dong Thap and Tien Giang provinces. On that basis, Ms. Vui sent deep gratitude to the contributions of previous generations and committed that the incumbent staff will continue to innovate, putting workers at the center.

At the meeting, delegates also listened to many heartfelt, responsible and practically experienced opinions from representatives of generations of full-time Trade Union officials through various periods. The thoughts and sincere messages have added motivation and faith for the incumbent generation of trade union officials to firmly step forward in the new development stage.

Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 16th National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province, acknowledged and praised the contributions of generations of Trade Union officials to the development of the province.

Ms. Phuong suggested that trade union levels in the coming time need to continue to innovate propaganda and education work; well perform the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; promote emulation movements associated with green transformation and digital transformation;...

At the meeting, the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals of the President were awarded to 6 former leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation through various periods with many contributions; the Medal "For the cause of building the Trade Union organization" was awarded to 4 full-time trade union officials.

On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation organized a summary of the online contest to learn about the Party Congress Resolution, the Trade Union Congress Resolution and the 97-year tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union. After 3 weeks of taking place (July 6 - July 26, 2026), the contest attracted 33,940 union members and workers to participate.
