Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee dialogues with officials and trade union members

The conference was held to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (July 28, 1929 – July 28, 2026), with more than 150 trade union officials and union members representing grassroots trade unions, businesses, and industrial parks in the province attending.

Many issues of concern

At the conference, trade union officials and members had 12 turns of opinions and recommendations focusing on issues that are of great concern to workers such as: the situation of businesses being slow to pay and owing social insurance; ensuring labor safety and hygiene; developing human resources to meet the needs of industrial parks and clusters.

Along with that is the development of social housing, worker housing; building cultural institutions to serve workers; preventing and combating "black credit"; digital transformation in trade union activities;...

With a spirit of frankness, responsibility and receptiveness, leaders of departments and branches directly exchanged and answered many contents under their authority; fully absorbed opinions to advise the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies to consider and resolve in the coming time.

The answers focused on solutions to handle businesses that are late in paying social insurance, strengthening occupational safety and health, developing human resources, social housing, cultural institutions, preventing "black credit", digital transformation in trade union activities and policies to care for workers.

Promoting the representative role

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Home Affairs and departments, branches, and localities to urgently review and promptly resolve recommendations under their authority; proactively coordinate to remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses and workers.

For contents beyond authority, units need to summarize and advise the Provincial People's Committee to report to competent authorities for consideration and resolution; strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of policies related to employees, ensuring that all legitimate recommendations are resolved publicly, transparently and in accordance with the law.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Mr. Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province acknowledged and highly appreciated the thorough preparation of the Provincial Labor Federation and departments and branches; praised the heartfelt and responsible opinions of officials and trade union members.

Mr. Thang proposed that the Trade Union organization continue to innovate the work of advising the Party Committee, promote the role of representative, propaganda, and mobilization, contributing to building harmonious and stable labor relations. The recommendations of union members and workers are all practical and directly related to social security and the sustainable development of enterprises.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, and localities to urgently resolve issues under their authority, especially social insurance debt, occupational safety and health, social housing, cultural institutions and human resource training; and at the same time continue to innovate trade union activities, promote digital transformation, care for and protect the rights of workers, build a modern worker contingent, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic development goals.
