It is necessary to put workers at the center of all policies
HUE - After 10 years of implementing Directive 52, Hue has achieved many positive results, continuing to put workers in the center.
On April 24, Hue City Labor Federation organized a ceremony to celebrate the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026) and a conference to summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. 52-CT/TW dated January 9, 2016 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in improving the spiritual and cultural life of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones".
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City affirmed that International Labor Day is not only an occasion to honor the working class but also a reminder of the responsibility to care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers (NLĐ); building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, after 10 years of implementing Directive No. 52, the workers' movement and trade union activities in the city have had many positive changes. At times, nearly 99% of industrial park workers were propagated about the law; more than 90% of workers participated in cultural and sports activities. Even during the epidemic and economic difficulties, nearly 89% of workers were still disseminated about the law, and more than 82% participated in cultural and sports activities.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai requested trade union levels to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, strongly focusing on grassroots levels; promote the construction of cultural institutions, strengthen cultural and sports activities; closely combine care for the material and spiritual lives of workers.
Speaking at the program, City Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, Chairman of the City Labor Federation Le Minh Nhan said that the results achieved in the past 10 years affirm that caring for the cultural and spiritual life of workers is not only a short-term task but also a long-term strategy, contributing to building a modern working class - a pioneer force in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.
However, the implementation of Directive 52 in some places is still limited; cultural institutions are not synchronized; a part of workers, especially migrant workers, still lack conditions to access cultural and spiritual activities; the content and methods of operation in some places are slow to innovate.
Therefore, in the coming period, the Trade Union organization needs to continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation; take workers as the center of all policies; comprehensively care about material and spiritual life; build a modern, knowledgeable, brave, humane and integrated working class.
On this occasion, the City Labor Federation was honored to be awarded the Emulation Flag by the City People's Committee for outstanding achievements leading the emulation movement in 2025. At the same time, the organizing committee also awarded certificates to 20 typical enterprises and Certificates of Merit to 20 grassroots trade unions with achievements in caring for and improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers in the period 2016 - 2026.
