About 2,000 union members and workers in Hoan Kiem ward were given free health check-ups

Hanoi - On the morning of May 7, the Hoan Kiem Ward Trade Union coordinated to organize free health check-ups and consultations for union members and workers in the ward.

Here, the Hoan Kiem Ward Trade Union and BCC Pharma Joint Stock Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and implementation of the Welfare Program "Healthcare for union members, civil servants, public employees, and laborers" for the period 2026 – 2029.

The health check program is implemented by the Hoan Kiem Ward Trade Union to detect early diseases in union members, civil servants, public employees and workers, especially non-communicable diseases and common chronic diseases, to have timely intervention and treatment measures; raise awareness, change behavior and lifestyle, prevent risk factors that cause diseases, thereby reducing the burden of disease, reducing treatment costs and improving the quality of life of workers.

This activity also aims to ensure that each worker has access to basic, equitable and continuous health services; strengthen the connection between trade unions and workers; contribute to building a comprehensive, in-depth and effective worker healthcare system.

The program will organize examinations for about 2,000 people who are union members, civil servants, public employees, and laborers directly under the Hoan Kiem Ward Trade Union; officials, civil servants, and laborers of Hoan Kiem ward agencies; non-specialized officials, grassroots officials in residential groups under the ward; forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level, and standing militia at some locations in the ward with a total cost of about 5 billion VND.

This is also an opportunity to raise awareness for workers about disease groups that greatly affect the quality of life of workers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, cervical cancer... and guide and support workers to recognize some common diseases, how to detect diseases early through medical examinations and health check-ups.

At the opening ceremony of the program, 50 union members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in difficult circumstances received support gifts.

One of the meanings of the Program is to aim for the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the term 2026 - 2031; the XIV Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the term 2026 - 2031; Workers' Month 2026... of Hoan Kiem Ward Trade Union.
