Workers in work accidents are supported by the union to ensure their rights

On January 7, the Trade Union of Ngai Giao commune (HCMC) said that it had coordinated with competent authorities to work with enterprises to ensure rights for cases of serious work-related accidents in the area.

Previously, in December 2025, while working at the factory of B.O.M Company Limited (Huu Phuoc Hamlet, Ngai Giao Commune), male worker N.T.Q (born in 2000, permanent resident of Lam Dong) had an accident while working and was swept away by a machine in the corrugated iron rolling area. Although the victim was quickly given first aid and taken to the hospital for treatment, he did not survive.

This is a business that has not established a grassroots trade union. After receiving the information, the Ngai Giao Commune Trade Union informed relevant units. At the same time, coordinate with business leaders, requesting full responsibility for the victims.

Thereby, the enterprise has paid all emergency medical expenses; at the same time, supported 150 million VND according to the proposal of the Commune Union, so that the family can take care of burial procedures and funeral arrangements for the workers. The company is committed to fully coordinating with authorities and implementing other compensation and subsidy regimes for employees who are involved in accidents in accordance with regulations.

In the coming time, the Commune Union will continue to supervise the implementation of further compensation regimes for workers' families who have had work-related accidents. At the same time, promote propaganda on occupational safety and hygiene and urge businesses to quickly complete procedures to establish grassroots unions to ensure better protection of the rights of 170 workers in the coming time.
