The trade union focuses on protecting the rights of workers on Phu Quy island
Lam Dong - Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union participated in the Interdisciplinary Working Group to strengthen inspection, guidance and protection of workers' rights on the island.
On December 2, Mr. Nguyen Thien Tam - Chairman of the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union - said that the unit had sent staff to participate in the Interdisciplinary Working Group to guide and inspect the implementation of legal policies on labor, employment, social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance in the area.
The interdisciplinary working group was established by the People's Committee of Phu Quy Special Zone from the end of October 2025 with the goal of strengthening State management and supervising the implementation of policies and regimes for employees at enterprises.

Phu Quy is an island 56 nautical miles from the mainland. The Special Zone Trade Union currently manages 8 grassroots trade unions and 2 trade unions with 381 union members.
The area has many enterprises operating in the field of exploitation, purchasing and processing seafood. The nature of seasonal labor is prone to dispute. Therefore, the work of caring for and mobilizing the establishment of grassroots trade unions has always been focused on.
After about half a month of participating in the Working Group, officials of the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union have mobilized many businesses to pay more attention to participating in compulsory social insurance for employees, while supporting and persuading employees to proactively participate in voluntary social insurance.

Accordingly, the working group worked with 43 companies, enterprises and cooperatives on the island. In particular, focusing on guiding the implementation of new points of the Law on Social Insurance 2024, regulating labor contracts, and at the same time noting the difficulties of enterprises to promptly support handling.
In particular, the staff of the Special Zone Trade Union also mobilized enterprises with a large number of employees to establish grassroots trade unions, in order to build harmonious and stable labor relations and improve production and business efficiency.
The support of the Phu Quy Special Zone Trade Union contributes to increasing the insurance participation rate and ensuring legitimate rights for workers, towards building a sustainable working environment on the frontline island.
