Gia Lai establishes 6 commune-level trade unions, protecting workers' rights from the grassroots
Gia Lai - The Provincial Trade Union established 6 Commune and Ward Trade Unions to strengthen the protection of workers' rights and care for the lives of workers from the grassroots.
On September 4, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor announced that it had so far established 6/13 Commune and Ward Trade Unions, including Phu My, Tay Son, Phu Cat communes and Hoai Nhon Nam, Quy Nhon Dong, Quy Nhon Bac wards.
The establishment of commune and ward trade unions is an important policy of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, aiming to practically protect the rights of workers, especially workers in the non-state sector and informal workers.
Grassroots trade unions will directly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers, provide legal advice, and mediate labor conflicts right from the grassroots level, helping to reduce complicated complaints. At the same time, coordinate with local authorities to inspect the implementation of wages, working hours and regulations on labor safety and hygiene.
Commune and ward trade unions are also places to propagate, mobilize, organize cultural and sports activities, care for the material and spiritual life of workers, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations right from the grassroots.
