Lam Dong - Nearly 1,400 union members affected by the second flood were given support by the union, helping to stabilize their lives as Tet approached.

On January 15, Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation - said that the unit has allocated funds to support union members and workers affected by the second storm and flood in 2025 from the support of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

This support focuses on union members and workers affected by the flood in early December 2025. The whole province has 1,397 union members of commune, ward and grassroots unions receiving support, with a total cost of 1 billion VND.

Of which, 603 were supported with 1 million VND and 794 were supported with 500,000 VND. The support level is based on the level of property damage of each family, divided by the threshold above and below 10 million VND.

Before allocating funds, grassroots unions, commune and ward unions have organized a thorough review and evaluation to ensure appropriate, public and transparent support for the target group.

This is an important step to bring support to the right union members who are really facing difficulties after natural disasters.

According to the allocation list, Ham Kiem Commune Union has the largest number of union members supported, with 364 people. This is an area with a large concentration of workers living in flood-prone areas (in December 2025) working in Ham Kiem Industrial Park I and II.

Next are Ham Thang Ward Union with 233 union members and Binh Thuan Ward Union with 175 union members supported.

Ms. Le Huynh Thi Hoa Phuong - Chairwoman of Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union said that immediately after receiving the allocated funds, the ward trade union organized a support handover to union members and workers at affiliated grassroots trade unions.

The support is provided quickly so that union members can promptly cover living expenses, repair their houses, and stabilize their lives.

Previously, Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor also completed support for union members and workers affected by the first flood (the flood from October 30 to November 3, 2025).

The first phase has 500 support packages from the budget of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with a total amount of 500 million VND; 400 packages from the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation worth 200 million VND and 100 packages worth 50 million VND from the support of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation. The total amount of support through the two phases is 1 billion 750 million VND.

This support source not only contributes to overcoming immediate difficulties but also clearly demonstrates the accompanying role of trade unions for union members and workers.

In the context of the approaching Lunar New Year, many workers' families are still worried about natural disasters, and the timely support from the trade union organization is of special significance.

Not only sharing material things, this is also a source of spiritual encouragement to help union members feel secure in their work, soon stabilize their lives, and celebrate Tet in less difficult conditions.
