Lam Dong Labor Union supports 900 union members and workers affected by storms and floods

On January 4, Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation - said that trade unions at all levels in the province have completed the first phase of support for union members and workers affected by storms and floods.

Accordingly, 900 union members and workers of grassroots unions, commune and ward unions in the province have received support.

Of these, 500 people were supported with VND1 million/meal, 400 people were supported with VND500,000/meal. The level of support is based on the level of damage to the house and property of each union member's family.

The first storm and flood occurred between October 27 and November 1, 2025, causing deep flooding in many communes and wards in the downstream area of Song Quao Lake.

Many residential areas and workers' houses were flooded, damaging property, directly affecting the lives of workers.

Notably, the severely affected areas have a large number of workers working in Phan Thiet Industrial Park, Ham Kiem Industrial Park and grassroots unions in the area.

After natural disasters, many union members have to both overcome the consequences of flooding and worry about their livelihoods, especially at the end of the year.

To ensure support for the right subjects, before allocating funds, grassroots unions, commune and ward unions have conducted a review and publicly and transparently commented on the level of damage to each union member.

The support is provided directly, promptly, to the right people, and at the right level, to help union members have more resources to cover their immediate living expenses.

After the flood in early December 2025 (phase 2), Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor is continuing to complete the necessary procedures to allocate funds and deploy support to union members and workers affected by the next natural disaster.

Timely care and support for union members after storms and floods not only has material significance but also clearly demonstrates the role of trade unions in accompanying workers in difficult times.

Thereby, contributing to strengthening union members' trust in the trade union organization, helping workers feel secure in sticking with the enterprise, gradually stabilizing their lives after natural disasters.
