Compassionate bus welcomes workers back to Ho Chi Minh City to work after Tet
Ho Chi Minh City - Businesses are coordinating with grassroots trade unions to organize a meaningful bus trip to bring workers back to Ho Chi Minh City to work after Tet.
On February 21 (the 5th day of Tet), the grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Di An ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that the unit is coordinating with businesses to organize the program "Meaningful Bus Trip" to bring workers back to Ho Chi Minh City after Tet.
From early morning, sleeper buses in Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An welcomed workers and departed back to Ho Chi Minh City. Buses in Quang Tri, Quang Ngai will depart this afternoon. Meanwhile, buses in Dak Lak (former Phu Yen province) will depart at 5 am on February 22.
The grassroots trade union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that 6 sleeper buses will pick up 240 workers returning to the factory in Di An and Ben Cat wards, Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for work after Tet. This year, the factories will officially resume operations on February 24 (the 8th day of Tet).

Talking to reporters, Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that this year the jobs and incomes of workers are quite stable. During Tet, the company decided to give Tet bonuses to workers equal to 2.4 months of basic salary plus allowances. To care for workers far from home, the company also organizes a bus trip to take workers home. All costs of the program to take workers home are sponsored by the business.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung, the company's orders are currently quite abundant, and workers' jobs are stable with monthly incomes from 8-12 million VND. From February 25 (the 9th day of Tet) onwards, workers will work overtime. The enterprise is also recruiting 500 more workers to meet production needs.
