Vinh Long Trade Union trains labor safety and hygiene for more than 120 officials

On May 29, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation organized a training class on occupational safety and health for more than 120 grassroots trade union officials, officials in charge of occupational safety and health work and occupational safety and health workers at enterprises in the province.

The training class aims to equip more knowledge and skills for trade union officials in ensuring labor safety, contributing to limiting labor accidents and occupational diseases at enterprises.

Speaking at the opening, Ms. Le Thi Kim Chi - Standing Vice President of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that labor accidents not only cause damage to the health and lives of workers but also affect production and business activities and the sustainable development of enterprises.

According to Ms. Chi, occupational safety and health is not only the responsibility of businesses or functional agencies but also requires the participation of the entire political system, trade union organizations and employees. Trade union levels need to strengthen propaganda, training, and remind employees to strictly comply with procedures and safety regulations in the working process.

The Trade Union organization needs to proactively coordinate with employers to inspect the working environment, promptly detect and propose remedies for unsafe risks, and prevent accidents before handling them.

At the training class, trainees were disseminated contents on policies and laws on occupational safety and health; the role of the Trade Union organization in ensuring labor safety; skills in monitoring, assessing risks and preventing labor accidents at enterprises.
