Article 29 of the Law on Drug Prevention and Control (effective from July 1, 2026) stipulates the time limit and process of drug detoxification as follows:

2. The drug detoxification process includes the following stages:

a) Receiving, classifying;

b) Treatment of withdrawal, detoxification, mental disorders and other diseases;

c) Education, counseling, behavioral and personality rehabilitation;

d) Labor therapy, vocational training;

e) Preparing for community reintegration.

3. Drug addicts must fully implement the time limit and drug detoxification procedures specified in Clauses 1 and 2 of this Article.

4. The Government shall specify the clauses 2 and 3 of this Article.

Thus, from July 1, 2026, the time limit and drug detoxification procedures are regulated according to the above regulations.
