General Secretary, President attends the 80th anniversary of the Artillery - Missile Corps

On the morning of June 29, in Hanoi, General Secretary, President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission attended the ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Artillery - Missile Soldiers (June 29, 1946 - June 29, 2026) and receive the First-class Fatherland Protection Medal.

Attending the anniversary were General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense. Also attending were Deputy Ministers of National Defense; leaders of the Artillery - Missile Corps Command.

On June 29, 1946, at the Central Guard Corps yard on Hang Bai street, Hanoi, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Hoang Van Thai read the decision to establish the Capital Artillery Corps including three platoons: Lang Fortress, Xuan Tao Fortress and Xuan Canh Fortress, marking the birth of the Artillery Corps - one of the earliest combat corps established by our Army, the predecessor of the Vietnam Artillery - Missile Command.

80 years of construction, combat, and growth, the Artillery Command has written brilliant golden pages of history with sweat, blood, and absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people.

The tradition of "Bronze feet, iron shoulders, fighting well, shooting accurately" will forever be a sacred flame passed down from generation to generation, so that the Vietnamese Artillery - Missile Forces can firmly step on the new journey, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State, Army and people.

The Vietnam Artillery - Missile Command has been awarded many noble awards by the Party and State: the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces (in 1976); Ho Chi Minh Order; Gold Star Order - the most noble award of the Party and State (in 2006); First-class Independence Medal; and many other noble awards.
