Prime Minister attends the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Voice of Vietnam

This morning (September 7), at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi), the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Voice of Vietnam (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025) and the 3rd Ho Chi Minh Medal was held.

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the ceremony. Also attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of central ministries, branches and Hanoi City.

80 years ago, at 11:30 a.m. on September 7, 1945, from the capital Hanoi, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) broadcast its official news for the first time.

At that historic moment, the Voice of Vietnam conveyed the content of the Declaration of Independence, President Ho Chi Minh respectfully announced to all peoples and international friends on September 2, 1945, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. That event marked the birth of national radio, becoming the first media symbol of an independent Vietnam - where the press affirmed its role as the pioneering ideological and cultural front of our Party and State.

From that important milestone, VOV has always accompanied the national history, closely associated with each revolutionary, resistance, national construction and defense journey. After 80 years, from the early days with many difficulties, VOV has grown to become a strong multimedia media agency.
