Prime Minister attends VNPT's 80th anniversary celebration
On the afternoon of September 6, 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 80th anniversary of the tradition and received the title of Labor Hero of VNPT.
VNPT was awarded the title of Labor Hero
According to Decision No. 1564/QD-CTN signed on August 12, 2025, the President has conferred the title of Labor Hero to VNPT Group. This is the second time VNPT Group has received this noble title.
In his speech at the 80th Anniversary of Labor Day and receiving the title of Labor Hero, Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VNPT Group shared: The title of Labor Hero awarded to VNPT Group is a special recognition of the Party and State for VNPT's efforts to bring practical results over the years. This noble title is a great source of encouragement for each VNPT officer and employee to continue to work creatively, commit to serving the country and the people.
Nearly 10 years ago, VNPT officially operated its new VNPT 4.0 phase strategy, a strategy that demonstrated a strong change in the objective and inevitable trend of global digital transformation. VNPT has proactively repositioned itself, exploring so that VNPT is not only a traditional telecommunications service provider, but VNPT must transform to become a technology enterprise, providing digital services, pioneering in leading national digital transformation from the very beginning.
VNPT needs to become a "launching pad" for creative ideas
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that over the past 80 years, VNPT has constantly innovated, created, and developed closely associated with the revolutionary history and the cause of building, innovating and defending the Fatherland.
First of all, it is a strong contribution to the success of the resistance wars against invaders and to protect the Fatherland.
VNPT, with its predecessor the Post Office sector, has ensured smooth communication from the Central to the battlefield and vice versa from the battlefield to the Central; ensured communication for people from the safe zone to the occupied enemy zone, between the two regions of the South and the North in the resistance war, contributing to the resounding victories of the nation, protecting independence, national unity and territorial integrity. During that process, nearly a dozen outstanding children of the space industry, who have suffered and lost their lives, heroically sacrificed themselves on fierce fronts, protecting and maintaining the "Information Corridor" of the revolution. Along with that are important contributions to socio-economic development.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that VNPT Group pioneer in researching and mastering core and key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data, Cloud, IoT, 5G/6G, cybersecurity; strongly invest in research laboratories, cooperate with domestic and international institutes and universities to create "Make in Vietnam" technology products and services, with high competitiveness, actively transferring technology.
The Prime Minister also requested VNPT to play a core role in national digital transformation, promote the construction of digital infrastructure through the synchronous deployment of national digital infrastructure, ensure safe and smooth connections from the central to local levels; develop shared digital platforms, effectively serve the digital government, digital economy, digital society, digital citizens and support ministries, branches, localities, and small and medium-sized enterprises to participate strongly in the digital transformation process, shorten the development gap between regions; actively participate in ensuring social security, especially actively eliminating telecommunications vangles in remote areas in the spirit of State investment and enterprise operation.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that VNPT Group will promote the traditional strength of the revolutionary Post industry, build a team of high-quality cadres and engineers with a broad vision, strong political will, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, pioneer, dare to commit to innovation, integrate internationally, and make effective contributions to the breakthrough implementation of the country's high-quality human resource development strategy.
