Pioneering community support in digital transformation
In Thung Nai commune (Phu Tho province), Ms. Le Anh Hong, Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, said that one of the key tasks of youth union members in the area today is to support people to access online public services, accompanying people in the process of carrying out administrative procedures in the digital environment.
Youth union members have to come to the house for support. In some cases, just one operation of logging in or verifying an account also requires direct guidance. Many households do not have equipment, do not have computers, so we have to bring vehicles to or arrange to meet with people at the cultural house for support" - Ms. Hong shared.
In Phu Thuong ward (Hanoi), digital transformation is also being implemented very methodically and diversely.
According to Ms. Do Ngoc Linh - Secretary of Phu Thuong Ward Youth Union, in addition to establishing youth teams to support people at administrative procedure receiving points, the Ward Youth Union has built the "Digital Transformation Family" model, aiming for each family to have at least one young member accompanying and supporting grandparents and parents to access digital platforms and proficiently use online public services.
A noteworthy point is that many digital transformation initiatives of Phu Thuong youth not only serve administrative management but also aim to build a modern interactive environment between the Youth Union organization and youth.
From "Youth Digital Mailbox", "Digital Mailbox What I Want to Say", "Digital Library", "Youth Digital News Bulletin" to the integrated QR code information board system, all are built with the goal of creating more channels to receive opinions, provide official documents and strengthen connections between union members and the Youth Union organization.
Accompanying young people to establish themselves and careers
Many grassroots Youth Union organizations also consider this a platform to promote startups, innovation, and effectively exploit the advantages of each locality.
In Thung Nai commune, according to Ms. Le Anh Hong, in parallel with digital transformation, the Commune Youth Union also focuses on accompanying young people to establish themselves and start a career. From the advantage of the water surface of the Da River lake, many union members have boldly developed cage fish farming models, opened restaurants, and run service businesses, gradually forming youth economic models right in the locality.
The biggest difficulty currently is not the lack of ideas but the output for products and business skills in the digital environment. Therefore, Thung Nai Commune Youth Union is proposing to organize training classes on e-commerce, online sales, livestreaming, and at the same time connect businesses and supermarkets to expand the consumption market for youth products.
Only when products have stable output can startup models develop sustainably and be replicated" - Ms. Hong said.
In Phu Thuong ward, the startup orientation is closely linked to the preservation of traditional cultural values.
The locality has many famous craft villages such as Phu Thuong sticky rice, ornamental kumquats, and traditional peach trees. Therefore, the goal of the Ward Union is not only to support youth in economic development but also to preserve and spread local cultural identity through digital platforms.
The ward union builds the model "Youth doing good business associated with promoting traditional craft villages", encouraging the application of technology to promote products, build brands, expand markets and support access to capital.
The "One Day to Phu Thuong Craft Village" tour is also digitized, allowing online registration and promotion on digital platforms, contributing to spreading local cultural values.
From the reality in a mountainous area with many difficulties and a developing urban ward, it shows that, despite different conditions, Youth Union organizations are choosing digital transformation as a driving force to innovate operating methods, and at the same time consider this as the "key" to promote startups, economic development and improve the quality of service to people.
