Opening of the exhibition "Vietnam - Indonesia: 70 years of cooperation and development"
The exhibition "Vietnam - Indonesia: 70 years of cooperation and development" honors the strong friendship between the two countries over the past 70 years.
The event was organized by the Vietnam Military History Museum in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, aiming to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Indonesia (December 30,55 - December 30, 2025) and opened on the morning of December 23.
Attending the exhibition were Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General, Institute Artist, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Huy Hieu - former Deputy Minister of National Defense; Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
The Indonesian delegation included Ms. Jane Runkat, Provisional Advocate of the Republic of Indonesia to Vietnam; Colonel Jerry Henry Manuhutu, Indonesian Defense attache to Vietnam.

The exhibition is an important cultural and foreign affairs activity, contributing to affirming and deepening the good traditional friendship between the two Southeast Asian countries, which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno, and has been continuously nurtured and developed by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
This exhibition displays and introduces more than 200 typical documents, images and artifacts about the country, people, history and culture of Vietnam and Indonesia, while highlighting the extensive and effective cooperation achievements between the two countries in many fields, especially defense cooperation.
The exhibition content is divided into three main parts, including: "Vietnam - Indonesia: Similarities", reflecting the close geopolitical location of the two countries in Southeast Asia, closely connected by cultural and historical remains.
Part two, "Comprehensive strategic cooperation", reflects the 70th anniversary of the formation and development of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia, the relationship that has been forged through historical challenges, becoming an invaluable asset of the two peoples.
The report ends with the theme "Developing defense cooperation", introducing increasingly substantial and effective defense cooperation activities, notably coordinating to ensure marine security, actively contributing to peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.



Many valuable artifacts were introduced for the first time, such as the Indonesian State's gift collection for President Ho Chi Minh, the Letter from Indonesian audiences to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Voice of Vietnam; Gifts from Indonesian military groups presented to the Vietnam People's Army or artifacts associated with cooperation activities between the two armies, including souvenirs from Vietnam's fire flights and fighting forests to support Indonesia.
In addition, the exhibition also introduces 70 contemporary works of photography, including 35 works by Vietnamese authors and 35 works by Indonesian authors, contributing to helping the public better understand the special and close relationship between the two countries through the language of the art of photography.
The exhibition will open to visitors from December 23, 2025 at the Vietnam Military History Museum, an opportunity for cadres, soldiers and people to better understand the historical value and strategic significance of the Vietnam - Indonesia relationship, thereby continuing to preserve, strengthen and develop the good traditional friendship between the two countries in the new period.
