Pineapple juice is good, but who should not drink it?
Pineapple (fragrant) juice is rich in vitamin C and many nutrients that are beneficial for health. However, not everyone is suitable for using this type of juice regularly.
First, people with stomach pain or stomach ulcers should limit drinking pineapple juice. Pineapple is highly acidic, when drinking on an empty stomach or drinking a lot can increase gastric acid secretion, causing irritation of the stomach lining. This easily leads to a feeling of scratching, pain or making the ulcer condition worse.
Second, people with allergic constitutions also need to be careful. Pineapple contains an enzyme that can cause allergic reactions in some people. Symptoms may include itching and burning of the tongue, red rashes, or even shortness of breath in severe cases. Therefore, if you have a history of allergies to pineapple or similar fruits, you should avoid using or trying very small amounts.
Third, pregnant women, especially in the first 3 months, should also limit drinking pineapple juice because bromelain in pineapple can soften the uterus, thereby increasing the risk of uterine contractions if used in large quantities. Although this risk is not high when used in small quantities, caution is still necessary to ensure safety for pregnancy.
Fourth, people with diabetes also need to pay attention. Pineapple juice contains a fairly high amount of natural sugar, which can quickly increase blood sugar if drunk a lot. Compared to eating pineapple whole, juice easily makes users absorb sugar faster due to a lack of fiber, thereby making it difficult to control blood sugar.
Finally, people who are taking antibiotics or anticoagulants should consult a doctor before drinking pineapple juice. Bromelain may interact with certain medications, increasing or decreasing their effectiveness.
Although pineapple juice has many benefits, not everyone should use it. Considering personal health conditions and using it in reasonable doses is important to ensure safety as well as maximize the benefits of this drink.
