More than 500 doctors and nurses take the first train to Bach Mai Hospital facility 2 to work
From June 26, the Vietnam Railways industry put into operation the pair of trains PL1/PL2 serving officials, doctors and nurses of Bach Mai Hospital moving between Hanoi and Ninh Binh facility.
On the morning of June 26, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded that at exactly 6:15 am, the train "Bach Mai Hospital" with registration number PL1/PL2 officially went into operation, transporting doctors and nurses at Bach Mai Hospital from Hanoi to facility 2 in Ninh Binh to work.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dr. Do Ngoc Son - Director of the Intensive Care Center of Bach Mai Hospital was present with more than 500 doctors and medical staff of Bach Mai Hospital present at Hanoi station, preparing for the journey to facility 2 in Ninh Binh to examine and treat people. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dr. Do Ngoc Son shared: "We feel very honored and happy to accompany the first train to Bach Mai Hospital facility 2 in Ninh Binh. Right from the time they received the assignment, the doctors in the center determined to complete their work well.
In the coming time, in the process of performing work at facility 2, we are determined to provide good medical examination and treatment for people. Moving to facility 2 later will also not be difficult because there are trains bringing medical staff to the place. The deployment of facility 2 in Ninh Binh has great significance in helping to reduce hospital overload, people do not have to go to facility 1 but can get high-quality medical examination and treatment right in Ninh Binh".
Bach Mai Hospital in Ninh Binh is a key national medical project, invested according to the Party and State's policy to improve the quality of people's health care, gradually narrow the gap in access to high-quality medical services between regions, and at the same time promote the effectiveness of public investment resources in the health sector.
In recent years, under the close attention and direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health and the close coordination of ministries, sectors and localities, the long-standing difficulties and obstacles of the project have been gradually removed. From completing infrastructure, installing equipment, building operating procedures to preparing human resources, everything has been deployed synchronously to put the hospital into operation to serve the people.
The opening of Bach Mai Hospital Ninh Binh facility is not only meaningful in completing a large-scale medical project but also opens up opportunities for people to access specialized and modern medical services right in the area; contributing to reducing the burden on central-level hospitals and improving the quality of community health care.
From today (June 26, 2026), the railway industry officially operates the PL1/PL2 specialized train pair to transport medical staff, officials and employees of Bach Mai Hospital to move between the Hanoi facility and the Ninh Binh facility (old Phu Ly city area).
Trains operate from Monday to Friday every week. In the departure, train PL1 departs from Hanoi station at 6:15 am, arrives at Phu Ly station at 7:22 am. In the return, train PL2 leaves Phu Ly station at 5:20 pm and arrives at Hanoi station at 6:30 pm. Both trips stop to pick up and drop off passengers at Giap Bat station.
To meet the daily travel needs of more than 500 officials and medical staff of Bach Mai Hospital, the railway industry arranges a train consisting of 9 soft seated carriages, equipped with air conditioning systems and utilities and services on the train, ensuring rest space for the medical team throughout the journey.
In particular, Ninh Binh province has arranged shuttle buses at Phu Ly station to pick up and drop off medical staff between the station and Bach Mai Hospital in Ninh Binh, forming a closed, convenient and safe travel process.
In the initial operation phase, stations on the route will increase personnel to support passenger traffic diversion, ensure safety and save travel time, creating favorable conditions for the professional work of doctors and nurses at the Ninh Binh facility.
