Hanoi is promoting the development of social housing and rental housing

On May 28, a National People's Council (HĐND) Conference took place in Hanoi to deploy directions and tasks for the 2026-2031 term.

Speaking at the Conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang said that Hanoi is implementing many major tasks according to the policy of the Central Government and General Secretary, President To Lam, such as building a socialist commune and ward project; promoting decentralization and delegation of power; removing bottlenecks in site clearance, connecting infrastructure and investment procedures; focusing on handling flooding, environmental pollution and developing green infrastructure.

Also according to the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, the city has focused on removing many "bottlenecks" that have lasted for many years; promoting administrative reform, digital transformation and innovation in urban governance methods.

Many shared data systems, smart operating centers and online public services have been put into operation, gradually forming the digital government and smart city platform of the Capital.

In particular, the City is promoting the development of social housing and rental housing in accordance with the direction of the Central Government; considering this both as a social security task and a sustainable development requirement of the Capital.

Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee added that urban infrastructure continues to be invested more synchronously; many strategic transport projects such as Ring Road 4 - Capital Region, urban railway lines and inter-regional connecting infrastructure systems are being focused on deployment, creating momentum to expand new development space for the City.

Along with that, the fields of culture, education, health and social security continue to be concerned with investment; the material and spiritual life of the people continues to be improved.

Besides the achieved results, the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee said that Hanoi also clearly recognizes that there are still many great difficulties and challenges such as pressure on population, urban infrastructure, transportation, environment, housing, human resource quality and sustainable development requirements that are increasingly high.

The growth model needs to continue to innovate more strongly; the international competitiveness of the Capital needs to be improved; the quality of urban governance needs to continue to be modernized.

In particular, the people's requirements for the service quality of the government apparatus are increasingly higher.

Therefore, entering the 2026-2031 term, Hanoi clearly defines the viewpoint of having to strongly innovate development thinking; maximize the potential, advantages and special mechanisms that the Central Government has given to the Capital.

Hanoi's spirit is to dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility; persistently adhere to the motto: "As you say, you do; do quickly, do right, do effectively, do it to the end".

All programs and plans must be concretized by progress, products and substantial results; taking the efficiency of serving people and businesses as a measure of the management capacity of the government apparatus at all levels" - Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang affirmed.
