Hanoi Police Director receives the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces

On the morning of April 18, on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Criminal Police Force (April 18, 1946 - April 18, 2026), the Prime Minister awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces (LLVTND) to Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police and the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police.

This is a noble reward of the Party and State, recognizing particularly outstanding achievements in the work of fighting and preventing crime, maintaining social order and safety in the Capital.

At the anniversary ceremony, the Prime Minister also awarded the Ho Chi Minh Order to the Criminal Police force. At the same time, the force was honored to receive a congratulatory and commendatory letter from General Secretary and President To Lam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung praised the feats of arms of the Criminal Police force during 80 years of construction, combat and growth. From a nascent force, the Criminal Police has developed into a core force, effectively fighting against all kinds of crimes, not allowing the formation of complex hotspots on security and order.

The Prime Minister emphasized that each successfully solved case is an affirmation of the strictness of the law, consolidating the people's trust. Behind the feats of arms are the silent sacrifices and courageous spirit of many officers and soldiers.

Faced with new requirements, especially the increase in high-tech and transnational crime, the Prime Minister requested the Criminal Police force to continue to innovate operating methods, combining traditional nghiệp vụ (professional skills) and applying modern technology, proactively preventing and not being passive or surprised.

The Prime Minister also oriented the construction of a criminal police force that is politically strong, professionally proficient, legally knowledgeable, and masters technology. Each officer and soldier needs to maintain their bravery, integrity, stick to the grassroots level, and improve professional capacity to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

Over 80 years of construction and development, the Criminal Police Department of Hanoi City Police has affirmed its role as a spearhead force in the fight against crime. Over the past time, the unit has dismantled many large and complex projects, contributing to ensuring security and order.

Prominent is the dismantling of a transnational foreign currency fraud ring led by "Mr. Pip", seizing particularly large assets. The force also investigated and handled violations at the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry and dismantled a diseased pig consumption ring, contributing to protecting community health.

The mark of the head of Hanoi City Police is also shown in aspects of work such as digital transformation, building smart cities, especially focusing on solving 5 bottlenecks in the area.

The above results demonstrate the bravery and determination to fight crime of the Criminal Police Force of the Capital Police. The title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces awarded is a worthy recognition for the contributions of the collective and individuals of Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung in the work of protecting the peaceful life of the people.
