Quang Tri - More than 1,000 people participate in the "Cycling Day for Peace" with a journey through the Special National Historical Relic of both banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai.

On the morning of April 18, at the National Special Historical Relic on both banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai, Thanh Nien newspaper coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province to organize the opening ceremony of "Cycling Day for Peace", opening the series of activities of the Peace Festival 2026.

From early morning, thousands of athletes, people and tourists were present at the foot of the flagpole to perform the solemn flag-raising ceremony. After that, cycling delegations paraded across Hien Luong bridge, launching a physical training movement associated with the message of peace.

Within the framework of the program, the delegations also organized incense offering at Vinh Linh Martyrs' Cemetery, visited and presented gifts to people with disabilities, Agent Orange victims and policy families.

According to the Organizing Committee, the event attracted about 1,000 participants from many domestic cycling clubs, along with international delegations from China, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, contributing to strengthening regional exchanges.

Continuing the series of activities, on April 19, the Quang Tri province cycling race in 2026 with the theme "Joining hands to build peace" will take place at Quang Tri Citadel. The race includes 3 events for men according to age groups and 1 event for women without age groups.
