Proposal to arrange 23 more commune-level administrative units in Quang Binh

On March 24, the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Binh province said that it had just issued a document reporting to the Provincial People's Committee on the plan to rearrange and reorganize the administrative units (ADUs) at the commune level of the province.

This proposed plan aims to implement Conclusion 127/2025 of the Politburo and the Secretariat on implementing research and proposing to continue to reorganize the apparatus of the political system, including the content of developing a project to merge a number of provincial-level administrative units, not district-level organizations, continue to merge commune-level administrative units.

The arrangement is proposed to be implemented according to clear principles to create commune-level administrative units with a larger scale, suitable for geographical location, natural conditions, economic development level and population characteristics.

Proposed implementation plan for each locality. For Le Thuy district, reduce from 26 commune-level administrative units to 3 units, the reduction rate is 88.4%.

Quang Ninh district, reduced from 14 administrative units to 2 units, the reduction rate reached 85.7%.

Dong Hoi City, reduced from 15 administrative units to 2 units, the reduction rate reached 86.6%.

Bo Trach district, reduced from 26 administrative units to 5 units, the reduction rate reached 80.7%.

Quang Trach district, reduced from 16 administrative units to 3 units, the reduction rate reached 81.2%.

Ba Don town, reduced from 16 administrative units to 2 units, the reduction rate reached 87.5%.

Tuyen Hoa district, reduced from 19 administrative units to 3 units, the reduction rate reached 84.2%.

Minh Hoa district, reduced from 13 administrative units to 3 units, the reduction rate reached 76.9%.

According to the proposal, after implementing the arrangement and reorganization, Quang Binh province will decrease from 145 to 23 commune-level administrative units, reducing 122 commune-level administrative units (reaching a rate of 84.1%).
