22 years of Branch of Tam Long Vang Charity Social Fund in Can Tho

In 2004, the Branch of the Golden Heart Charity Fund (XHTT) in Can Tho officially belonged to the Lao Dong Golden Heart Charity Fund. This event marked an important turning point in the social security work of the local Trade Union organization, making Can Tho one of the key areas owning a dynamic branch of the fund.

Before the milestone of 2004, local charity activities mainly focused on supporting scholarships for children of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVC-LĐ) overcoming difficulties and studying diligently. However, along with the socio-economic development momentum and the actual needs of workers, the charity capital flow of the fund was quickly expanded.

From 2004 to now, the Fund Branch in Can Tho has awarded 6,567 scholarships to poor and studious students, handed over 373 solid Trade Union Shelters, and promptly visited and cared for thousands of union members who suffered from labor accidents and critical illnesses. Thanks to that, the fund is not only a place to send material support but also becomes a warm spiritual support for disadvantaged people.

Not stopping at on-site care activities, the Branch of the Golden Heart Charity Fund in Can Tho also shows the spirit of sharing and mutual affection by always accompanying the mother fund in large-scale relief campaigns.

In addition to the direct social security programs implemented by the Branch, Can Tho City also receives great support from the Golden Heart Labor Social Charity Fund through a series of practical rural transport infrastructure projects.

Assessing the role of the Fund in the development of the locality, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, Head of the Management Board of the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund Branch in Can Tho - emphasized that in the past time, the Golden Heart Labor Social Charity Fund has had strong imprints with many outstanding projects in the area such as Ngon Tra Ech bridge, Ba Bich bridge, Dia Muong bridge, Kenh A7 bridge, Y-shaped Kenh Duong Go bridge or Kenh Xang Nang Mau 2 road.

According to Ms. Mai, towards the milestone of 30 years of establishment of the Golden Heart Labor Charity Fund, this is a meaningful opportunity to look back at the persistent journey of connecting kind hearts, mobilizing social resources to care for those in difficult circumstances.

The 30-year anniversary mark is also an opportunity for the Fund to continue to promote the human values that have been nurtured, innovate mobilization methods, effectively use resources and expand the companionship of businesses, philanthropists, organizations, and individuals.

The value of the Fund is not only reflected in the number of projects or funding support, but also in the trust, sharing and spirit of mutual affection spread in the community. This is also the foundation for the Fund to continue to accompany workers in the next development journey," Ms. Mai emphasized.

For Can Tho, the Branch will continue to closely coordinate with trade union organizations at all levels, prioritizing support for the right people, promptly and practically, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases, suffering from labor accidents or not yet having stable housing.

At the same time, the coordination between the Can Tho City Labor Federation and the Golden Heart Labor Social Charity Fund will continue to tighten further to improve response capacity, be ready to accompany workers in the face of changes in life, and continue to affirm its role as a warm and meaningful "common home" for workers in the riverine region.
