Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union launches new term, focuses on workers

Following the leadership of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in 2025, the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor have proactively coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and sectors to synchronously deploy many political tasks, focusing on the grassroots, taking union members and workers as the center.

The highlight is the work of caring for the material and spiritual lives of workers. Trade unions at all levels in the province have mobilized over 64 billion VND to support more than 82,000 union members and workers through the "Tet Sum Vay" program; completed 92 "Union Shelters" with a total cost of 4.05 billion VND.

Timely visits and support for union members affected by storm No. 10. From the "Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Social Fund", 185 union members received emergency allowances with a total amount of 92.5 million VND.

Along with that, the activity of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers continues to be strengthened. The whole province maintains 266 collective labor agreements, including 36 new initial signings, contributing to improving working conditions, income, and welfare for workers.

The work of developing the organization has achieved positive results with 38 newly established grassroots unions, 3,282 union members admitted; 827 outstanding union members introduced to the Party for consideration, training, and admission.

At the conference, Chairwoman of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem suggested that members of the Executive Committee and Inspection Committee continue to promote their roles and responsibilities, proactively advise and effectively implement assigned tasks.

The focus is to promote the dissemination of resolutions of the Party, the Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Trade Union; organize well activities to care for the interests and welfare of union members and workers, especially during the 2026 Lunar New Year.

Union must promptly grasp the thoughts, lives, jobs, and income of workers; play a good role in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members; strengthen dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on wages, bonuses, working conditions, occupational safety and hygiene, and the quality of shift meals, emphasized the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor.

On this occasion, authorized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor awarded the Creative Labor Certificate to 2 individuals; the Provincial People's Committee awarded the "For the cause of building and developing Lao Cai province" Medal to 2 individuals; the Provincial Federation of Labor received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for outstanding achievements in coordinating actions in 2025.

Also at the conference, the Executive Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor launched an emulation movement and signed an emulation covenant in 2026 with the theme: "Union members and workers compete in innovation - Promoting digital transformation - Improving productivity and efficiency".
