Lao Cai Industrial Parks Trade Union effectively cares for more than 14,000 union members
Lao Cai - On January 14, the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union held a conference to summarize trade union activities in 2025 and deploy tasks for 2026.
Currently, the Trade Union Board of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province is managing 91 grassroots trade unions, with 14,560 workers, of which 14,028 union members and female union members account for more than half. The team of workers has basically stable jobs, and their skills have been gradually improved to meet the production and business requirements of the enterprise.
In 2025, despite the impact of high raw material prices and decreased orders, with the direction of the Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor and the efforts of trade unions at all levels, trade union activities in industrial parks still achieved many positive results.
The focus is on performing well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.
The "Tet Sum Vay" programs and the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market have been implemented synchronously and practically. The Industrial Parks Trade Union organized a "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" for 120 union members in difficult circumstances in the province's Southern Industrial Park; coordinated to visit businesses, presented 1,573 gifts from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Federation of Labor; and directly presented 35 gifts to union members in special circumstances.
In addition, social security work continues to receive attention. During the year, the Trade Union Board of Industrial Parks proposed to support the construction of 4 "Union Shelters" for union members in difficult circumstances with a total budget of 180 million VND.
In response to the damage caused by storm No. 10, the trade union has reviewed and counted 3 enterprises and 1,783 union members and workers affected. On that basis, the Provincial Federation of Labor decided to support 968 union members, at the rate of 1 million VND/person, with a total cost of 968 million VND, contributing to helping workers soon stabilize their lives.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem - President of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor highly appreciated the efforts of the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union and grassroots trade unions in the context of many difficulties.
In 2026, trade unions at all levels need to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, focus on caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; proactively grasp labor relations, enhance dialogue and collective bargaining, especially during the 2026 Lunar New Year, Ms. Nhiem emphasized.
The Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor also requested grassroots unions to promote the development of union members and the establishment of unions at enterprises; review, negotiate, and re-sign expired collective labor agreements in a more beneficial direction for workers; focus on improving the quality of union officials to meet the requirements in the new situation.
On this occasion, the Trade Union Board of Lao Cai Industrial Parks commended and rewarded 2 collectives and 27 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of workers, civil servants and trade union activities in 2025.
