Looking at the meal with only vegetables, soldiers deduct salary to support poor students
Quang Ngai - The meaningful salaries of officers and soldiers are silently supporting poor students to go to school.
The learning of poor children is less precarious
After 3 months of being mobilized to the grassroots level, the team of regular military officers at the commune level in Quang Ngai province not only quickly caught up with the work but also actively implemented people's mobilization models rich in humanity. In which, the "Supporting Father" model is becoming a warm support for many students in difficult circumstances.
As in the case of Pham Anh Thu (born 2015), residing in Lam Loc Nam village, Son Tinh commune, who has twin sister Pham Bao Tram and her biological brother who is currently in 9th grade. Born into a family with difficult circumstances, her mother died early, her father went to work far away, and her life depended on her elderly grandparents.

Simple meals, days of worrying about studying once made the children's dream of going to school fragile. "Before, I was afraid of not being able to go to school anymore. But now every month, soldiers come to visit, give money to buy books, and even teach me to study. I am very happy!", Thu said emotionally.
Since being sponsored by the Son Tinh Commune Military Command, each month the two children have been supported with funds, and "caretaker fathers" come to visit and tutor them in their studies. Not only is it material help, but it is also spiritual compensation.
Major Bui The Dung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of Son Tinh commune shared: "We go to the grassroots level not only to perform national defense tasks but also to determine to be attached to the people. The'Parental' model is the most practical way to share, helping young children have more conditions to rise up.
There were times when visiting the children's families, looking at the meal tray with only vegetables and simple food, the brothers felt very sorry. "It is these things that urged us to do something more practical," Major Bui The Dung recounted.
Contributing every month, keeping the road to class
Not only Son Tinh, in Long Phung commune, the "Parrot" model is also spreading good values. Three young children: Nguyen Ngoc Phat, Nguyen Hoang Quan and Nguyen Lu Hoang Chau, each with a different situation, but all share a common lack of full family love.
Nguyen Hoang Quan (born 2017) is currently in 3A grade, Bo De Elementary School, whose mother died of cancer, her father has heart disease, and lives off her elderly and weak grandparents who are in difficult economic circumstances, and her family is a poor household.
Quan shared: "Soldiers often buy milk for their children, and ask if their children are good at studying. I will try to study really well so as not to disappoint them.

Major Huynh Huu Tri, Deputy Political Commissar of the Long Phung Commune Military Command, expressed: "We not only support money monthly but also monitor their studies, encourage the spirit of the children. Some children were initially very shy, but now they are bolder, and with the support of the Commune Military Command, they can teach and study further, so the results are clearly improved.
In Tho Phong commune, the story of Mr. Nguyen Van Phu's family (born in 1987) makes many people feel choked up. His wife died early in 2016, and he himself suffered from a serious illness, and two young children of school age were often sick. The burden of life weighs on the father's shoulders, making the future of his children precarious.
When the Military Party Cell of Tho Phong commune implemented the sponsorship of two children Nguyen Thi Vi (born 2014) and Nguyen Thi Dieu Huyen (born 2016), everything gradually changed. "Many times I thought I couldn't overcome it. Thanks to the timely support and help of the soldiers, I have more faith to raise my children. They are like family members," Mr. Phu confided.
What is special is that the funding for maintaining these models is mainly deducted from the salaries and allowances of officers and soldiers themselves. The saved money, the small gifts but containing great affection. All come from the heart and responsibility of kindness.
Colonel Trinh Cong Son, Deputy Political Commissar of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, assessed that after 3 months, the contingent of regular officers returning to the grassroots level, although still facing many difficulties, each young officer not only promotes the spirit of responsibility in performing local defense and military tasks but also spreads many effective models, clearly showing the spirit of responsibility, closeness, and blood ties with the people.
Models like "Parents" not only provide material assistance but also build trust and increasingly strong military-civilian bonds.
