With that meaning, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front proposed that all levels, sectors, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations of Can Tho City continue to concretize the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State with practical and effective tasks.

Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City said that after implementing the merger of administrative units, Can Tho City will have an area scale of 6,360.83 km2, with 103 commune and ward-level administrative units (31 wards and 72 communes), with a population of about 3.85 million people.

Can Tho has 28 ethnic groups living together, of which 668,812 are ethnic minorities (accounting for 17.37%); Khmer people alone have 543,266 people (accounting for 14.11%), concentrated in 38 communes and wards of ethnic minority areas, with 406 hamlets/areas, of which 164 hamlets are particularly difficult.

In the city, there are currently 13 religious organizations recognized by the State, with 467 affiliated organizations, 752 religious establishments, more than 1,500 dignitaries, 3,500 officials and about 1.35 million followers, accounting for over 42% of the total population of the city.

At the visit and Tet celebration of Chol Chnam Thmay, the organizers presented 50 gifts to dignitaries, officials, Achars and prestigious people in the community. 100 gifts were also sent to individuals, poor Khmer households and policy families.
